Slg./Coll. Fürstlich Waldburg Wolfegg'sches Kupferstichkabinett. (L. 2542)
In this depiction, the well-known Greek legend is placed in a fantastic forest setting. It is not about the Verdict of Paris, but the Dream
of Paris. Paris gets lost in the forest during a hunting trip. He lies down and falls asleep. In his dream, the goddesses Hera, Athene, and
Aphrodite appear commanding him to give the prize to the most beautiful of them. The subject matter is one of the most favoured subjects of antiquity at the time.
Very beautiful, clear impression with beautiful relief on the verso. Very rare. In excellent condition, some small foxing.
