In 1747, Bellotto left Venice for the court of Augustus III of Poland in Dresden. During his time in Dresden, he painted two series of views of the city and also made 22 large etched views with the same subjects. Brilliant impression of rich contrasts with regular margins of approximately 50 mm around the plate edge. Minimally restored centre fold.
