Wilhelm Reuter was a court painter in Berlin and one of the first artists in Germany to work with lithography. Having been prompted by Andrée's "Specimens of Polyautography", Reuter started to publish series called "Poly-autographische Zeichnungen vorzŸglicher Berliner KŸnster" in 1804. On the verso, a much fainter proof impression of the same object.
