Die Sauhatz/ The boar hunt |
| Description |
Oval. 44:35 cm.
Wintter was trained by his father, Johann Georg Wintter, and worked for the carpet manufactory of the Prince-Elector in
Munich. In 1784 he was appointed engraver to the Court of Karl Theodor, Prince-Elector, Count Palatine and Duke of Bavaria. Wintter’s oeuvre, like Riedinger’s, comprises more drawings and prints than paintings. Dynamic drawing of a hunting scene by Wintter. After Riedinger he probably was the best artist of hunting scenes in the 18th century. |
