Only edition of this rare work on the natural history of Switzerland with many contributions on geology and the first German edition of H. B. de Saussure‘s account on his ascent of the Mont Blanc (Vol. II, pp. 287-308). Of particular interest are the geological and mineralogical contributions on lead, iron and copper mines, basalt, fossils, spas, glaciers and the formation of volcanoes etc., Volume I contains a detailed map of the Grindelwald valley.
